Slava.
He can't see the world, but he feels it more acutely than most. Slava is a champion. Not just a good player, but one of the best in Russia and Europe in blind football. He plays in the dark, but he sees the field differently: through sound, the movement of air, the vibration of the ground. He hears the ball before it touches his feet, anticipates where the shot will go when the sighted players haven't even reacted. Sport gives Slava what the state doesn't. In a country where millions go into the pockets of officials rather than helping those who truly need it, he doesn't wait for support. He simply goes out onto the field, again and again, proving that seeing isn't the same as understanding, and being in the dark doesn't mean being broken.
